Going on holiday is supposed to be a relaxing experience. Time to kick back and enjoy pleasant weather, excellent food and surrounds while mixing it all with a change of scenery and a splash of sunshine. But if you’ve got pets then sometimes a holiday can become a bit of a nightmare. You’re pet will of course need special attention at this time and arrangements will need to be made. But wouldn’t it be so much better to take your pet with you? I mean, after all, they can be more a part of the family then some rebellious teenagers, so why shouldn’t you take them with you?
Of course there are options, which is great news for your pets, and they are as follows:
Home sweet home
Leaving your pet at home may well seem like the best choice, especially when you’ve got cats. As cats are quite territorial they may find catteries or staying with a friend more stressful then other pets. If you decide to leave your moggy at home then make sure you find a responsible person to look after them, that your pet has met them before and that you’ve stocked up with all his/her favourite things before you go.

Taking your pet with you on holiday
Just typing into the internet ‘pet friendly holidays’ will throw up any number of options available here on UK soil. There’s a huge market out there and people are finally waking up to it, and realising that without your pet there’s a family member missing. Even better, the accommodation, in most cases, cost the same as anywhere else, and even better, you’re not getting another room just bring your pet’s bed and bowl with you.

The Kennels and Catteries
Kennels and Catteries might seem like concentration camps but the standards are on the up. Make sure you check out each possible establishment before you agree to anything. Find out what you’re pet will be getting, what treatment they’ll receive and see if you can contact people that have used it before. Alternatively, seek personal recommendation from fellow pet owners, they’ll steer you right.
A Holiday for your pet
It’s about time someone thought to make this owner’s ideal a reality. But finally your pet can have a holiday while you do. With establishments set up that to offer your pet the best in pampering your pet is in for a treat. With things like open access to vast grounds, swimming for your pooches and kitty cat fun rooms, TV in the tearoom, enclosed grounds for freedom anytime and on site pet groomers, you’re pet can go on a tailor made holiday and enjoy all their favourite things at your request. So when you all get back you’ll be refreshed!

Well whoever thought that holidays could be so much fun and that your options were so many. So if you’re planning, or have planned your holiday, and your pet is now in need of a little attention why not turn to a pet holiday and give them a little treat.
