Goose is the term used to females, while males are called ganders. Males and females are similar, but males tend to be bigger.
Geese are territorial birds, since they put up a fight with any intruder. In Egypt, there are records of what appears to be domesticated geese 5 thousand years ago.
Geese are monogamist animals, forming pairs for life. They are exceptional flyers and migrate every year, flying for thousands of miles. They fly in “V” formation that allows them to save energy, by rotating position and taking advantage of the less wind resistance the goose on the front provides.
