History [ edit ]

The Pot-bellied pig is a breed of swine form Vietnam. What makes this pig different from other breeds is his size. A typical swine can reach 400 kg, while the Pot-bellied pig shouldn’t have over 100 kg. In average, the Pot-bellied pig weights 60 kg.

The Pot-bellied pig and other pig breeds can be crossed and generate offspring. So, you need to be particularly careful when buying a Pot-bellied pig so you don’t end up with an animal with more 300 kg then expected.

The Pot-bellied pig lives in average 12 to 15 years, although the oldest pig of this breed has reached 20 years old.
