when I arrived:	Bernie was born on a campsite around 1km from where I live. His mother only had the one puppy. The campsite owners were friends and I didn't have a dog so they gave me Bernie. He was only four weeks old when he came to me
bio:	The main photo of Bernie is when he was 4 weeks old. I thought he might grow into a St. Bernard which is why I called him Bernie. As time went by it became apparent that he was more like a cross between a corgi and a Jack Russell
special features:	Bernie was brought up with a cat who I think he believes is his mother. They will not settle at night if one or other of them is not in. They always sleep together.
likes:	Sleeping on the bed with his head on a pillow like we do, riding in the car, sitting at the table on a chair in our bar with friends (neighbours, bar clients and us), almonds (breaks the shell and eats them when the farmers lay them out to dry).
dislikes:	Most Spaniards (even though he is a Spanish dog). He doesn't bark if someone English comes to the door or into the bar but does if they are Spanish. How does he know???? Cats other than our own. Smoke. Being left at home. Collar and lead. Vet

Hi everyone

Bernie is more human than dog and possibly has an identity crisis because our cat mothered him from 4 weeks old. We thought he would be a St Bernard but something went badly wrong in that he now looks like a cross between a corgi and a Jack Russell. He is a real character and all our villagers love him.
